Shoalwater Birders Monthly Field Trips

On the fourth Saturday of each month a field trip is planned that takes members, and anyone interested, to many favorite local birding spots on the peninsula. Some months all day outings take us off the peninsula to other interesting birding sites in Washington and Oregon, such as Brownsmead, Julia Butler Hansen Reserve, Sauvie Island, and Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge, as well as others. Wind, rain, and the occasional sun break do not dampen the enjoyment of finding many local and not so local migratory species that can be uncommon to the area. Our usual gathering time and place is 8:00 am at the Bank of the Pacific in Ocean Park.

Our next outing is planned for Saturday January 28. We will cross the river and explore the South Jetty in hopes of spotting a varied number of our feathered friends.
